Life In The Fast Lane Has Changed

Back in 2015 when I was moving offices in San Diego I wrote about the first piece of art I had ever bought.

Last week I moved the art into our new Phoenix home. This is the other piece by Roark I had bought at the same time and same price:

The box art is called ‘Life In The Fast Lane’.

I wonder how Roark would capture that same ‘Life In The Fast Lane’ in 2019 seeing that the driver would now be in the back seat of an Uber wearing airpods with his smartphone tucked away, eating a Chipotle Burrito.

I am not sure what makes Roark’s work ‘art’ other than I appreciate it more in 2019 than I did when I purchased it with money I did not have back in the early 1990’s.

I wonder what it is worth and if there is a price I would sell it at?

I doubt Max and Rachel could appreciate it as much because they do not have the same context.

Have a great Thursday
