A NO Keyboard Life….Tell that to Slash Keyboard

I have spent the last three weeks trying to work as much as possible without a regular laptop or desktop keyboard. It’s been almost completely possible.

My partner quarterly letters and some hard core catch up email have been my only few problems so far.

This dry spell in blogging is proof of the biggest problem I have had adjusting. I am sorely out of blogging shape and I miss the keyboard as a way to bang out thoughts more than two sentences. But I am back as of today and have a slew of new posts in the hopper.

With Slack now my number one use for team communication, I can live in the app on mobile, desktop and tablet. My Gmail use has plummeted. I have never been a spreadsheet builder, more just a reader and checker.

The keyboard is not dead though. In fact, I am bullish on the keyboard. I am typing this post from my new IPad Pro with attached keyboard while flying to New York City.

I have downloaded the WordPress mobile app and will try and post regularly from my iPhone6 + starting tomorrow.

Despite my concentrated effort to move off the keyboard of a desktop and laptop, I am super bullish on the keyboard for mobile phones and tablets.

I am testing out a bunch of mobile keyboards and made a small personal investment in Slash Keyboard If I can’t give up the keyboard, I want it to help me live a more productive mobile connected personal and work life. Maybe Apple and Google screw over the whole marketplace, but I will live with that risk.

Applied to verticals like finance and markets the mobile keyboards that TapSlash is creating has huge potential. If in doubt, check out a Bloomberg keyboard one of these days…
