For the last 6 months I have lived with my teams on Slack.

Slack is a very fast growing enterprise communication product. It’s like a Bloomberg Terminal (no data yet) for chat. It is a messaging app for teams at the moment, but I can see all types of small and large groups using it.

The last time I was this bullish on a sector/company was when I invested in Tweetdeck back in 2007/2008 as Twitter was growing. I felt Twitter was well on it’s way to replicating the chat part of a terminal for everyone in the world.

What makes Slack really unique at the moment is they opened up their API to allow people/companies to create bots and apps that will allow users to pull data and information into the terminal and have data pushed in as well.

Stocktwits moved quickly here and has launched a Slack app/bot that will push breaking news and allow users to pull Stocktwits quotes and information into their organization. In the spirit of Stocktwits irreverance, we also added a fun GIPHY integration that pulls a GIF into each quote based on moood and the stock price that day.
