Apple – Laptops are the real PRIZE. After that it's COFFEE!

I read two fantastic articles on Apple this weekend. If you own an Apple product and don’t own the stock, you will cringe. You have thought all these thoughts yourself. Yet, you have not bought the stock because – it’s too high, the iPod sales are going to slow, competition…

Here are the two articles – MUST READS:

The Apple Revolution – by David Galbraith.

Mark Morford of The San Francisco Gate. Hat tip to Brad Feld.

I fully agree with David. I have said so since I started this blog one year ago. The Apple revolution has just begun.

The real revolution is the LAPTOP – the REAL PERSONAL computer.

The next Starbucks is your Apple store. I would not be surprised to see Apple partner with Starbucks. I need to own Starbucks again and may add some tomorrow.

It is so close to over. Apple design, their retail stores, Nike partnership, Steve Job’s at Disney. A serious deal with yahoo and/or Google will cement it. With Schmidt on Apple’s board, I doubt it will be Yahoo (another huge goof by Semel and Yahoo).

The phone and email device are all that’s left. While others chase Apple in music, Apple will undoubtedly launch an A bomb when they finally decide on their phone.

Bill Gates has a new strategy. Buy hotel chains like the Four Seasons and ban the use of Apple products. Not far fetched. He already bought the hotels.

A lot has been written about the apple store experience. I visited one yesterday in Santa Monica because I’m getting tired of my PC crashing under the weight of video editing software.

[What software application does Wallstrip use on that fancy Mac in foreground of every episode?]

I was pleasantly surprised by my sales-associate’s (do they have some clever name like “cast member” for them?) insistence that I do not need a mac pro to handle video editing but could use the latest iMac w/ dual core from intel.

He spoke of their $99 offer that gave you one-on-one help at their stores for any of their software tools (including video editing.) Pretty cool.

As for Gates’ purchase of the Four Seasons…[INSERT MICROSOFT ENGINEERING JOKE ON HOTEL OPERATIONS HERE…”How many MSFT engineers does it take to deliver a wake-up call? One… but they’re always five years late… [rim-shot]
