Everyone Dies…Not Everyone Lives!

William Wallace the anti-semitic Scottish warrior of Braveheart says it best in my post’s title.

So many people are wrapped up in negativity and anxiety. I don’t have the cure, but I sure am trying to live so I stay away from the negativity as much as I can.

I had a fantastic time in Manhattan as always and had a great time speaking at the NY Tech Meetup on Tuesday night. I am extremely bullish on Manhattan and the Web and from the packed house at IAC headquarters, the negativity that has permeated Manhatttan from the crash on Wall Street has not infected the city’s enthusiasm for the web.

The web gets a lot of negative attention from the nerds over on the meme’s. Everything is dead…web 2.0, VC’s, advertising… and it’s bullshit. It’s noise just like CNBC and old media. You need to shut it off.

I believe that the slowdown in VC inflows and outflows is exactly what the doctor ordered. It is not your god given right to start a me too web business with no plan because Amazon has given us ‘The Cloud’.

Every business dies eventually so get out there and live. Just think about revenue while you are living right now.
