Google is Eating The Internet…But You Don’t Have to Eat Their Food!

My partner and pal Phil is one of my fave thinkers and a great investor. He writes well too.

I loved his piece yesterday on $GOOG (I am long) which was quite popular. It’s scary how much data and power Google has, but let’s be honest, they are less evil than the data scoundrels of the last generation…Transunion anyone? Equifax?

The great news about the web and the social aspects of the web going forward is that there are choices. Good ones.

Sure Google has a new Evernote copycat, but Evernote is not broken. Only Evernote can beat Evernote (note to self…I gotta start using Evernote).

My friend Om Malik is a little pissed about Google and their handling of Google reader. He is NOT switching.

We have choices. We have great thinkers and doers and mentors sharing information about products and platforms and choices.

Let’s be honest, this is the roaring 20’s on steroids for consumers, but buyer beware, especially those used to getting so much internet stuff for free.
