Solar stocks are having a fabulous year.

I’ve been watching from the sidelines only.

One of the solar ETF names is $TAN (until this year a more fitting ticker name would have been $BURNT).

On Koyfin you can see all the $TAN holdings.

I like easy to understand catalysts, and the solar story may finally have one…home power.

Here is Fred Wilson explaining how they power their home with Sunpower solar panels (the stock is in the $TAN etf, but has been a dog).

Of all the ‘green’ energy, solar seems the least political and that will make for a better trend because it seems like people want solar in their homes.

This could be the beginning of a massive trend. Time to do a little more work.
