Hillenbrand Industries (HB) on Wallstrip

Death and taxes are very ‘Wallstrippy’ in nature. If you are invested in the market and thinking long-term, these two areas should be on the radar for your investable dollars. Problem with taxes is the IRS is not public, while H&R Block has stumbled, so today on Wallstrip , we tackle death.

It’s not that Hillenbrand is on fire or anything. Considering the businesses they are in, the business has, well…flatlined (no pun intended) since 1998. How the hell has Hillenbrand (HB) been so bad a performer the last 9 years, considering the businesses they are in?

As a trend follower, I don’t care. But as someone that thinks death will come back into vogue as America ages, it’s on my radar screen these days. Lindsay points out a few interesting marketing twists in their casket business for sure.

The show describes their businesses, but you can find more out on their own site , on Google Finance (also find related public businesses) and Yahoo Finance .

I do not own, but a break above $70 would be an all-time high and I think would lead to bigger gains. Down 10 percent from here I would be tempted to nibble on the stock as well. It is a stock on my watch list for sure.

PS – I had to watch the ending twice because I though our guest Vampire called Lindsay Feng-Shui , not ‘Fang Tease’. ‘Fang Tease’ is on my top five fave Wallstrip lines now.

Disclosure – no positions in any stocks mentioned.
