Shoutouts…

I have had the widest spectrum of Uber drivers this week. On my way to Houston Wednesday early morning, I left my keys in the Uber and did’nt realize it (forget the fact that my keys are attached to a large blue rope so I do not leave them anywhere). Coming home the next day I figured it out and with the magic of Uber called the driver who had kept them for me.

This morning, Ellen and I were headed to Park City and two drivers cancelled on me because our home in Phoenix does not show up correctly on Google maps. There is nothing harder than explaining your location to a driver while they are staring at Google maps. The third driver had little patiience and the minute I started to lose my cool, he called me dickhead and cancelled. I shared it on twitter asking ‘how do you rate an Uber driver that calls you dickhead’ and the responses to it are funny.

Onwards…

I apologize for the lack of depth the past week on the blog.

I have a million ideas in my head but I can’t seem to get them into clear blog posts.

When I am struggling to write, the best cure is linking to others.

Here goes…

First the markets…

They remain very choppy and difficult. I have been in defensive mode for many weeks and the only thing that seems to be on the bulls side is seasonality. I will let the seasonality people grind away at this tape.

I think this post from Trade Stewie is a must read for those in a big drawdown titled ‘How To Regain Your Confidence‘.

When Stocks Fall 10 percent by Ben Carlson is the definitive post on corrections. I agree with Ben that nobody knows what will come starting Monday, but we can look back historically to see how many corrections turned into bear markets or crashes to get a better sense of the potential range of outcomes.

This piece from Morgan Housel titled ‘How This All Happened‘ is fantastic. It’s a short story of what has happened to the US Economy since World War II.

For you founders and entreprenuers…

My friend Brian nailed the traits of great founders:

My friend Farbood, founder of Coinmine had this great insight on hiring:

Have a great weekend.
