Shutterfly is a/the photo publishing website. It has been public for just over a year and done quite well. It logged $150 million plus in sales the last calendar year. That’s a big number for an internet business nobody has heard of outside the photography industry.
It is definitely a pure play on the digital/internet photo industry, but it is a crowded business for sure. Here is the Google Finance start page .
It is a good stock for sure, but not one that makes me jump up and get excited. I will leave it alone. Lindsay and crew have fun with the idea on today’s show .

I’ve used Shutterfly for the past 3-4 years of holiday cards, but rarely for printing photos. Not sure how many of its customers are repeats or how much they use the other services (oh yeah, made my Mom a calendar 2 years ago).
Crowded space, indeed.
