StockTwits Accounts Update

Beginning August 1, it will be required that our members have a StockTwits account in order to message to StockTwits streams.

Creating a StockTwits account allows you to tap into and engage with the largest real time market focused community surfacing valuable ideas, setups and information first.

If you do not have a StockTwits account, please go HERE, sign up for one and feel free to connect your Twitter, Facebook and/or LinkedIn accounts so that you can message directly to these venues selectively via StockTwits.

You will still be able to send messages to StockTwits from Twitter as long as you have a StockTwits account.

You can manage these social connections HERE.

Currently, if you are following @StockTwits on Twitter but do not have a StockTwits account your messages do appear on StockTwits streams.  This will no longer be the case.

We recognize that this is a change from how we have historically pulled Twitter messages of those following @StockTwits on Twitter without StockTwits accounts and will work with our members to inform and assist in the transition.

The change will allow us to make a number of requested feature enhancements to StockTwits including better member follow and block features and improved tagged message filtering.

Signing up for a StockTwits account is easy, takes only two minutes and also allows you to post charts to Chartly.  Join StockTwits and make Wall Street keep up with you!

If you have questions regarding the transition, please contact Phil directly at phil at stocktwits dot com.

Untethering (at least in part) from Twitter is a smart move. It avoids the Facebook/Zynga problem where, based on the massive supplemental filing, one party is essentially a (very well paid) indentured servant to the other. Well done.
