Despite Wallstrip and I being completely snubbed by Yahoo Finance’s new TechTicker blogroll :) , I like all the people at TechTicker so I am biased and think it’s good. I am rooting for Aaron Task and Company. I do wonder what Microsoft will do if they buy Yahoo as MSN Money and Yahoo Finance will need to get merged.
How can you not like financial videos from Paul Kedrosky chatting with Jim Rogers. They are short, with good questions so far. Below – Jim chats about China and also his worst mistakes. It is good to see others follow Wallstrip into web financial video and expand the pie so to speak. Lot’s of room for innovation as this is early days and the financial audience will always be ravenous for info and an edge.
Jim’s advice is not complicated. He is basically a giant trend follower.
I have been long the water ETF (PHO) for a long time with good but boring results and I am tempted to keep adding after watching the video but will just keep doing less and looking for major deals in real estate and private equity until we get more strength.
The TechTicker design is pretty simple and hopefully remains uncluttered. I did find it confusing getting to an embed screen but I am a tech putz. The tag line is unfortunately my least favorite part and they really need to change it ASAP – “I like the smell of Profits in the Morning”. OY.
How about….
TechTicker…
1. FUMSFT
2. Today’s Microsoft Bid is…
3. TheStreet DOT WHO?
whoa, great arbitrage opportunity slipped in there by jim rogers. love his bow tie.
Really good videos by TechTicker. It looks like the CNBC market share will continue to shrink. Not that the number of their viewers is falling. It is just growing with slower pace compared to the fast expanding financial media industry. I haven’t watched a minute of CNBC for the last 6 months and it feels good, financially and intellectually.
lol andy
Jim Rogers’ book is boring and already out of date. The Silk Road to Riches was a better book.
“What CNBC would do if they didn’t think they needed to be on ALL FREAKIN DAY”
When I was a producer at WBBR Jim’s Blackberry number would be answered promptly and often… as long as the book got a plug. Howard Lindzon would be a bigger scoop for Tech Ticker I am sure.
Congrats for all of the exposure! I just checked it out, and it looks like the “Howard Lindzon Channel” today … OK, now that I’ve taken a look, I’m confident that I can put it on the “ignore” list, as it just looks like it’s gonna add to the noise level in time. Ping me if something interesting happens.
Howard, if you’re really interested in WATER as a play, you have GOT to get out of the PHO! It’s not really water, or water-related, as you’ll see if you start digging into the holdings and analyzing where the revenues are coming from. There’s not a good way to play water without getting into individual names.
Good videos… Kedrosky just needs to stop with the uh-huhs as the guest is answering the questions. What’s that old saying, “names make news”. If he can keep up the parade of Rogers quality guests he’s got something that will keep ’em coming back for more.
bill – thx for heads up – working on the names youu sent me and will get to a post here soon.
