Toyota on Wallstrip

Today’s Wallstrip show was inspired by a post written by Bob Lefsetz. Fred read it, it struck a chord, the stock met our criteria and now it’s a show.

Who is Bob Lefsetz?

Bob Lefsetz is the author of “The Lefsetz Letter.” Famous for being beholden to no one and speaking the truth, Lefsetz addresses the issues that are at the core of the music business: downloading, copy protection, pricing and the music itself.

His intense brilliance captivates readers from Steven Tyler to Rick Nielsen to Bryan Adams to Quincy Jones to EVERYBODY who’s in the music business.

Never boring, always entertaining, Bob’s insights are fueled by his stint as an entertainment business attorney, majordomo of Sanctuary Music’s American division and consultancies to major labels.

“The Lefsetz Letter” has been publishing for the past 20 years. First as hard copy, most recently as an email newsletter and now, for the first time, in blog form.

OK – he is a music dude. He may know squat about Auto stocks. Does it really matter? I think he sums up why the stock has soared and may continue to trend. The Wallstrippers offer their opinions on the stock.

Nobody in America owns Toyota the stock. Do they?

When we think of auto companies we think of Ford and GM, we lump them in with Airline stocks. Avoid at best.

Woops. Big woops!

Check out the historical chart of Toyota.

It looks like a growth chart to me.

In America we hear all the wrong excuses – trade issues, health care, currency, wages, unions….

Let’s face it – it’s the product.

The old Mustang’s and Corvette’s and T-birds were cool. Shit – Harley Davidson still manages to rock on despite being AMERICAN!

Me – I owned a Honda Element. Ordered a Scion a few years back, made the deposit and on the way home, saw the Element, bought it and cancelled the Scion. Made more sense to me. Seemed safer. Both have been equally safe and great stocks since the time I bought my Element.

Disclosure – Not long or short Toyota or Honda
