Trading Is…

A few months ago, my friend Sean wrote a post as a tribute to traders called ‘Trading Is’.  It has stuck with me.  Now that I am back in Coronado and spending some time at 4 am PST with the screens and prices again, I forgot how much the lifestyle is in my blood. I am overwhelmed with all the goodwill I receive from investors and traders that use Stocktwits and how quickly they tell me they are learning. I try and remind them of the time it will take, no matter how fast they think they are learning. It’s a good time to revisit Sean’s post and I hope you might add one of your own. We can all learn from this sharing.

Trading is…

A path to build wealth.

A road to ruin.

Unending entertainment when you’re clueless.

Crushingly boring when done right.

An enlightening window to the world.

A glimpse of humans at their worst.

A venue where lifetime friendships are built.

A dark alley where business relationships are destroyed.

The most satisfying game to master.

The most frustrating occupation to enter.

Filled with some of the most sharing and generous people you’ll ever meet.

Populated by Shysters and Hucksters ready to con you out of your last nickel.

Synonymous with America’s growth and a source of pride.

Occasionally responsible for America’s black eye to the world.

Where new fortunes are cemented.

Where generational family fortunes are forever lost.

I would add a lifelong pursuit where the more you cut, the better you get.

Have a great day. I am off to golf soon. I guess I would add that ‘trading is…not having to trade’!
