Feeding The Ducks…

Before I get started…

You must watch this incredible display of ‘touch’.

Sometimes in the markets you can’t help apply some touch and feel.

There is a saying in the stock business called ‘feeding the ducks’. ‘You Don’t Go Broke Taking Profits’ is another.

They have always resonated (maybe too well) with me.

Yesterday I talked about too many ‘doom and gloomers’ and the textbooks not having answers for this macro environment.

The trends show no sign of relenting. One reason could be that semiconductor stocks and home construction stocks are trending upwards beautifully. They are two of the most economically sensitive groups in the market.

When things are so good I look for statistical extremes and we are starting to see them. This one caught my eye with respect to technology stocks being stretched.

There is no one magic bullet when stock market investing. Time in the market likely matters most.

But, once or twice a year the markets look too horrible to look at or too good to be true. I tend to be more active during these moments.

In a market that seems endlessly trending (you could argue a dose of froth is evident), I have been feeding the ducks.
