Golfnow.com redesign…Check it Out

It was a gorgeous day in Phoenix. Not that I played golf, but it would have been nice. It has been a few months now since my last round. Pathetic.

Since I am thinking about golf for the first time in a while, check out the sweet Golfnow.com redesign . Still in beta, but wow.

The company is growing so fast in the US, UK and now Mexico that it’s hard to believe.

Disclosure – I am an investor

In Pinehurst,NC all week 78 from the tips on #4 today.
No place like this on earth. Golf in it’s historic sense permeates everything here.

Golf is the purest form of evil on the planet. All the world’s fresh water shortage problems could be solved overnight by simply not wasting precious water on golf courses. Imagine what the would would be like if people used even half the time spent “playing” golf, actually doing something productive. Every golf course in the world should be turned into a homeless shelter. Golfers aren’t even athletes. They are fat rich dudes determined to idle away their time until they die. It’s sad.

You have to be kidding. That Golfnow.com page is really ugly. Way too busy. Too many clashing colors. Don’t recall what it looked like before, but if this is an improvement, they are in real trouble.

This looks like a decent site. I clicked through to my area (Raleigh / Durham, NC) and found a couple discounted rates at good times. Cool concept – will keep an eye on it – like Hotwire for tee times, eh?

Part II – Re: Cyrus’s comment above.

Cyrus, you should do your homework before you go an a rant like that. First, the vast majority of golf courses use reclaimed water (aka: used toilet water)for irrigation – this is far from “fresh” water – in fact, I’m pretty sure you don’t want to drink it. Second, your prejudice and judgments about golfers are way off too – go to a municipal course and see who’s there, you may be surprised.

    Howard-
Redesign looks good, how about adding Myrtle Beach and Pinehurst.

    Cyrus-
I relieved myself on 3 trees today in your honor, all in the name of water conservation.
