Lululemon Athletica (LULU), Inc. on Wallstrip…IPO

Canadians for sure love LULU.

Americans will too, but this is one IPO I am giving six months or so to play out and mature in the marketplace. The IPO was priced at $18 and has already been to $38. Here is their Google Finance page .

Back in January, Lindsay and I sat down with Ian Lopatin my yoga guru friend to talk about the spiritual and cultural shift towards Yoga. This is a huge industry in waiting.

LULU is the first of many Companies that will be taken public to satiate the coming demand. Gaiam (GAIA) is the granddaddy of the space and is perking itself up near all-time highs.

I imagine I will own one or both of these before year’s end. In the meantime, I continue to buy and wear my favorite ‘yoga’ clothing from privately held ‘Be Present ‘. I urge you to buy a pear of their pants and try them out. Perfect fit even on my pear shaped body.

Lululemon will never make it big. It is a pure sign of retarded decadence, as ‘well-to-doers’ try to become more ‘in tune’ with themselves, via fucktarded yoga.

It’s gay and the stock price will relfect its asshattery.

Couldn’t agree more with Broker A although the stock may have plenty of upside before its asshattery rules the day. Depends on the peeps running the business. Yoga, for better or worse, will be here for the duration.

Yoga as a popular fitness/lifestyle trend has peaked just like pilates, taebo, aerobics, etc. Thousands of people each day still exercise in these ways, but they are not the profit makers they once were. As someone who practices yoga, yoga helps strengthen the underlying muscles around the joints, but at the same time many yoga postures put a lot of pressure on the knees. If only through physical necessity, many will have to shift their practice. I think a backlash may develop towards these people and their companies who try to project the “go within” message which can only be achieved through their designer clothes, mats, music, candles, jewelry, etc.
