One More Time…It's Over!

Apple has set the stage for finishing off most of the competition and now maybe the telecoms.

This is stage one of the new war . Three years from now, most American kids will have one.

Someone needs to be creative and very bold with acquisitions to disrupt them. I would kill to be in the Google and RIMM war room. The bankers of the world are not smart enough and none of the fat cat tech CEO’s seem to care. They think they can compete. Meanwhile Apple opens more stores and cuts small deals with the likes of Starbucks…not revolutionary but another stake in the ground.

Take a look at all the meme’s and tech blogs. Apple owns it. The TV campaign is simple and fun because the products are simple and fun.

Google is happy to share the pie with Apple if they have to. Theoretically they need to be careful because as they make acquisitions, Apple controls the hardware that could theoretically change the software and search landscape five years out. Apple has no people integration issues because they buy no one!

He who makes a move for RIMM will be overpaying, but smart. Traders know it and that’s why RIMM won’t go down until someone steps up. If you are short RIMM, you are gagging on that thought. P/E – SHMEE/E

Awesome war shaping up at home and abroad in tech. It’s fun.

UPDATE – Just to be safe and temper my always rosy look for Apple, this is what the grumpy nerds are saying about the Apple product news today . It’s important to know what the non cheerleaders think, because like Dave they can be very smart if you can get around the grumpiness.

    Hey Howard,

If you haven’t read Cringely’s latest article yet, here it is:

Makes a good point or two

Looking down the road, I see Apple and Google starting cell phone war against T, VZ, and the others. Their phones may be WI MAX or the new frequency that is being put up for auction that Google is thinking about bidding on. But it will be a whole new “operating system” that does not need the traditional system. While those two will battle the incumbents, they will eventually duke it out. Meanwhile, I would keep riding the Jobs train.
