Selling, Selling, Selling…But

This morning I sold down my gold and silver $dgp $gld and $slw to NO POISTION. That’s pretty much the first time I have had no metals in 5-6 years. I sense I will own them again by November higher or lower.

The last 5-7 days I have been trickling out some stocks like $rovi, $rax $meli $hmin $jobs, $swks, $ctrp (all of them put on and taken off on Stocktwits)

I thought I was putting on some good positions but they all ran 20-40 percent and like I generally do, I sell early when an investment turns into a trades. I always ask myself, would I be happy if this stock went from 50-80 in a year. If it gets there in three weeks I just have to be happy and start the wind down.

I am even contemplating going short financials, but I won’t and my friends Steven Place and Adam Warner were quick to share some strategies to do so.

The inconceivable rally could do anything at this point. I am about 20 percent invested in highflying momentum stocks and my stops seem ridiculously far away now from the entry points. I will give some meaty profits back when this turns but will participate if we rocket from here.

I believe October will be a wild one and I want to be in the right frame of mind for pouncing. Nice run in just a month and it does happen all the time.

its all about the gdp number tomorrow morning. if the futures like it and spx opens over 1150, then expect markets to rally hard.

Spooky animals, all this day trading is. What kinda magic 8-ball do you need to invest, the prices appear to fluctuate irrationally to an outsider. Wonder what a price change tax would do trading, kinda like price momentum.

    • way less day trading than you think. check iin on the stream three times
per day and you get a feel for the human ticker and how people feel. takes
time. cant learn this in one week or two years even, timeeee

Maybe higher volatility, but I think October will be close flat overall. November will be much more interesting.

Of course, now that I’ve said that, October will close up or down 10% and the rest of the year will stay within a 2 point range….

“…hoping i have not sold too early.”

Isn’t that the way it always feels? (unless it’s painfully obvious i sold too late)

If you’re selling gold you’ve held since 2005, you’re taking in quite a profit. I’d call that a good move.

I’m still holding my paltry sum in bullion, but I have to admit that this morning at about 4am I almost decided to sell it. I need another day or two though… The insanity thinks it can last longer than me.

The insanity has no idea how crazy I really am.
