Stocktwits 50 for January 8, 2011 – ‘The Putzconomy’…$50 Club Sandwiches and $5 Smartphones

The Stocktwits50 list is enclosed for your enjoyment

Food inflation, energy and semiconductor are the continuing themes. There are a bunch of new names on the Stocktwits 50 and the grandfather of the list (18th straight week) is $SPRD, a $400 million semiconductor company that few have heard of. At 10 weeks is Caterpillar which we all have heard of $CAT. That’s the beauty of all-time highs and Stocktwits 50. Find the themes, industries and leaders from within those trends that are working.

Currently, I own $OPEN $ATML $MIPS $AAPL $AMZN $NTAP and $LULU from the list along with some other companies like $TMRK $RNOW $LPSN $RAX $GOOG $IGOI $INTU $ARBA $EPAY and $NTCT that did not make the list. It’s a sign of a good momentum market that I own so many names and want to add more.

Have a great week. I will be off the desk for the first time in a month and off to New York, but a new ‘Momemtum Monday’ will be running tomorrow all day.

The sheer amount of burgeoning “new” semiconductor plays is unbelievable. We oughta put these two dozen names or so in a rotisserie league just to keep track of them all.
