I know I know…Microsoft is great and Sony is great. Whatever.

I was in the mall tonight for a few minutes and stopped in quickly to surf in the Sony store. Sony has a big space by the food court. It’s the most trafficked area in the mall (the food court). It’s a wealthy demographic as well. It was dinner time. I was the only yutz in the store.

I tried to get on the internet on the one computer set up to do so. The wireless signal sucked. Explorer than crashed. I tried to load Firefox for them, but screw them :) .

EVERY salesperson knew I was only there to surf the net and not buy anything. That was awkward. I than twittered that Apple’s mall strategy should be to open small stores right next to Sony. Homerun. Rub salt in the hemmoraging wound.

The game in North America is over. Sony has Japan and most of the world, but basically that’s just open field opportunity for Apple over time.

By the way, Microsoft would be way better off pulling their Yahoo bid and making a hostile takeover for CBS at $20 billion. They would save $24 billion. That idea was emailed to me by a reader and I think it would outrageous and fun.
