A sweet day as the Lindzon’s have retrieved Rachel from the camp bus with no trauma. She has tons of new email friends and can’t wait to blog about her summer. She needs an e-mail account like NOW.

My oil trade that I put on yesterday was a sweet one as the index alone rose 3 percent today. The shorts have overstayed their welcome here I think. I will be booking some profits in the A.M.

I was playing around on my links this afternoon and noticed a flurry of links from Google Finance – specifically referenced to GYI (the stock symbol for Getty Images) , a TROUBLED company I posted about in detail on July 6th – “Web 2.0 – Not an Inflated Bubble, but a deflator of 1.0 Companies.”

So I go to the link and I see that Getty just BLEW UP this morning, missing numbers, loss of pricing power etc…..OY! Basically just what I was predicting and was reinforced in the post’s great comments.

Seems like Wall Streeters have now found my blog in a very indirect and unintentional way as Google has created a section for bloggers of stocks like me. Great for Google, great for investor’s and great for me. Life is good for the moment.

So what does this have to do with copycats and my mea culpa?

Google Finance is not the caliber of Yahoo Finance but added a great feature for crawling for bloggers of stocks posts and integrated it into their site. They did not COPY Yahoo Finance but tried to innovate over them using their core competency in search. Don’t count them out on this score and it is another reason they deserve a premium valuation.

BUT – GETTY is being hurt by the Flickr’s of the world as their model is basically copied with a pricing model that Getty can’t survive against. Web 2.0 is wrecking a multi billion dollar company in internet speed.

Score one for the COPYCATS and a heck of an exciting day for the little internet people like me.

PS – That doesn’t change my opinion of Calacanis.
