When I was asked by Ben Weiss of Greylock to come speak in Israel for his FinTech conference, I said sure.
I let him know I had no intentions of investing in any Israeli businesses.
Ben probably laughed as he reassured me…’no problem’.
That whole plan lasted until I heard Yoni present Etoro.com . I walked up to him after the presentation and I said you are turning Forex into ‘Zynga for Real Men’. We hit it off.
Next thing you know…Israel and San Diego have a new connection .

I’ve seen this movie before and am very intrigued. You need a Chris Moneymaker for a catalyst to kick it off mainstream, an affiliate compensation layer with residual payments to accelerate growth, and then whatever you do, don’t get some lame UIGEA legislation attached to a Port Security bill that shuts you down for good and it’ll all work out.
Good point about the risk of UIGEA-like nonsense. I owned a few shares of some online poker company that got hammered by that.
