Web sites are a commodity.
Despite everyone being on the web, traffic that matters is scarce.
I have learned how to do most of the basic blocking and tackling of building web businesses, but it’s time for me to push my comfort zone of knowledge and expand my horizons.
You should be reading up on all this stuff if you are planning to survive in the real time web.
Soren and I have been following the team at KISSmetrics for a while (Twitter @kissmetrics). You should too.
I have also been learning about A/B testing. Check out how The Huffington Post uses it .

At GE the mantra is, 'you can't manage what you can't measure'. Not all the corporate mantra's I agree with but this one is gold.
This is especially true in such an industry where information about your customers is so readily available. Completely agree that the KISSm guys are doing a great job and sharing some really great stuff about what they learn on their blog.
